Job Summary of Associate Store Manager:

Responsibilities of the Associate Store Manager entail supporting the Store Manager in cultivating a sales environment focused on customers and merchandise quality, with an emphasis on upholding the company's principles and standards throughout all store functions. This encompasses the supervision of sales processes, protection of assets, and management of human resources operations to deliver superior customer service and enhance profitability. Responsibilities of Associate Store Manager:

  • Assesses sales records and KPIs to establish the business's necessities; Collaborates with the Store Manager to carry out in-store business and sales tactics.
  • Clearly outlines and communicates expectations, maintaining accountability for both the store team and themselves in achieving brand, performance, and behavior benchmarks.
  • Oversees budgetary control for both personnel costs and procurement expenses.
  • Supervises and carries out essential day-to-day operations such as setting up schedules, performing shrink audits to meet goals, conducting physical stock assessments, managing opening and closing responsibilities, checking timesheets, ensuring precise payroll documentation, and coordinating merchandise logistics.
  • Executes financial tasks proficiently while adhering to regulations, comprising the proper management of cash flow, adjustment of prices, and supervision of merchandise; guarantees the precision and policy adherence in the completion of all register transactions.
  • Maintains conformity with all relevant regulations, theft prevention strategies, operational protocols, and checks; delivers training to staff for emphasizing correct practices.
  • Handles the oversight of all operational tasks, which include managing inventory flow, maintaining optimal levels of merchandise on the floor, and conducting regular physical inventory audits.
  • Ensures that the presentation, arrangement, and maintenance of the Brand embody its essence.
  • Fosters a culture of excellence, encouraging the sales team to strive for success in meeting their sales and efficiency objectives.
  • Providing education to sales staff about products is necessary for enhancing their expertise, whether in physical stores or virtual platforms.
  • Aids in finding fulfillment and achieving successful sales through coaching and hands-on assistance.
  • Inspires and drives the store team, creating a common goal and exemplifying fundamental beliefs.
  • Advocates for an encompassing and cooperative strategy in tackling issues.
  • Engages with store teams and the Store Manager to lead impactful improvements.
  • Desires opportunities for personal development and willingly requests feedback to broaden leadership skills.
  • Acts as a role model, instructs, and endorses the Most Astonishing Customer Care (MACC) principles and benchmarks, delivering a seamless cross-channel service.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of different sales strategies to forecast sales projections and enlighten customers about product details. Offers advice on product choices or assists in finding or sourcing products tailored to individual customer needs and preferences.
  • Makes certain customer concerns are resolved promptly.
  • Stays informed about current regulations and guidelines related to payments, coupon usage, returns, exchanges, security measures, and other pertinent operational procedures to enhance the speed and efficiency of register transactions.
  • Maintains consistent client interaction within the team by employing the customer book, participating in loyalty programs, and encouraging customers to sign up.
  • Provides support in the recruitment, selection, and growth of an exceptional team.
  • Endorses, executes, and delivers post-training support for all instructional sessions, workshops, etc.
  • Reviews and guides the performance of the store team members.
  • Works alongside the SM to resolve human resources matters promptly and efficiently.
  • Promotes active engagement among associates and teams by acknowledging and rewarding employees for exemplary performance.
  • Ensures that the store team follows all guidelines and procedures related to employment practices and policies.

Qualification of Associate Store Manager:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of retail management experience preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills
  • Able to learn or adapt to technology provided by the company
  • Proven excellent customer service skills with statistical track record in all areas of sales and leadership
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership qualities, training and team building skills
  • Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations
  • Able to communicate with customers and staff
  • Regular attendance is essential to this position to ensure adequate coverage to meet company objectives. Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays is required

Physical Requirements of Associate Store Manager :

  • The majority of an 8-hour shift is spent engaged in continuous walking or standing, ranging from 67% to 100%
  • During an 8-hour shift, lifting weights that can go up to 50 lbs. is only required occasionally, which makes up a range of 1-33% of the total work hours
  • Consistent climbing activity - comprising 34% to 66% of an 8-hour shift
