Job Description of Payment Processing Clerk:

A Payment Processing Clerk is accountable for completing customer transactions accurately, accepting payments securely, and providing exceptional customer service in a retail context. They are responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by actively communicating with and assisting customers, embodying the principles of customer service, and maintaining a well-organized store environment. Strict adherence to operational, inventory, and loss prevention standards is crucial. Payment Processing Clerk may also be trained to work in different areas of the store to support business operations effectively.

  • Role models have pioneered customer service methodologies that cater to the needs of both internal and external customers
  • Maintains a harmonious store environment through the core values of honesty, integrity, and respect
  • Adheres to operating procedures when processing customer transactions, guaranteeing accurate recording of purchases and returns and correct change returned
  • Backs the growth of credit and loyalty programs
  • Maintains the merchandising philosophy in accordance with established procedures and standards
  • Capably manages the processing and display preparation of merchandise, following company procedures and standards accurately
  • Takes part in the organization and cleanup of the store when the need arises throughout the day
  • Participates in maintaining the sales floor's organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and contributes to the cleanliness of the entire store
  • Gives and receives recognition and helpful feedback
  • Conforms to all labor laws, policies, and regulations
  • Promotes and is involved in efforts to lessen store shrinkage targets and programs
  • Engages in safety training awareness and ensures a protected environment
  • Duties could involve assignments outside the regular job requirements
