Freight Forklift Handler

Purpose: Conduct safe operations of powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as forklifts and cherry pickers to relocate merchandise within the distribution center. Process orders accurately as they flow through the facility's operations.

Responsibilities of Freight Forklift Handler:

• Adhere to supervisor directives by utilizing powered tools to efficiently complete the picking and storing of products with precision
• Utilize computerized warehouse management systems (WMS) in conjunction with RF scanners to efficiently process all barcoded products
• Point out and convey any deviations to the leadership group
• Strictly follow the standard operational directives (SODs)
• Document production output as per task accurately and ensure completion of all paperwork requirements
• Availability to work extra hours whenever necessary
• Capability to learn and operate in a variety of areas simultaneously
• Foster a work environment that values safety and cleanliness
• Additional obligations as mandated

Proficiencies, Capacities, and Skills of Freight Forklift Handler:

• An adidas certification is required for individuals to safely and effectively operate a range of powered equipment, such as order pickers, turret trucks, reach trucks, powered pallet jacks, and sit-down forklifts
• Basic math skills
• Good communication skills
• A prerequisite for the role is proficiency in English language communication, reading, writing, and comprehension

Essential Functions of Freight Forklift Handler:

Consistently expected to engage in speaking or listening; be seated, upright, or mobile; employ fingers, hands, arms, and feet for tactile perception, manipulation, gripping, seizing, raising, handling, propelling, and dragging for up to twelve hours daily

• Demonstrate proficiency in safely working at elevated positions, upwards of forty (40) feet
• adequate at managing responsibilities in a warehouse setting with varying temperatures
• Consistently meeting the expectation of attending work as scheduled
• Familiarity with the safe operation of power industrial equipment is obligatory
• occasionally required to sit; bending, twisting, climb or balance; lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to fifty (50) pounds; and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl

Qualifications of Freight Forklift Handler:

• Attaining a high school diploma or its corresponding qualification opens doors to various opportunities for personal and career growth
• An essential requirement is a minimum of six months of past forklift driving experience
• Necessitated to excel in oral communication, reading comprehension, writing skills, and linguistic understanding in English
