Refrigeration Technician

The Refrigeration/Service Technician maintains store operations by installing, maintaining, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, and related equipment. This position is a Circle K designated safety sensitive position.
Essential Job Functions
•Maintains working climate by repairing, and servicing refrigeration equipment, ice makers, and air conditioning systems.
•Restoring and repairing faulty or inoperative refrigeration and HVAC systems and associated equipment.
•Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems both inside and outside of equipment. Have a working knowledge of how to replace any parts of the system of a Refrigeration or HVAC unit; Inspecting refrigeration and HVAC systems and equipment.
•Ability to weld and solder copper and steel tubing.
•Complies with local, state, and federal codes and standards.
•Maintains refrigeration and HVAC maintenance by ensuring that required parts and equipment are available.
•Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on all HVAC and refrigeration equipment to include filter changes and regular cleaning.
•Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
•Maintains a professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and safety training classes; reviewing professional publications.
•Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with Circle K and OSHA procedures, rules, and regulations.
•Partners with Circle K Supervisors to facilitate repairs with out-sourced vendors.
•Facilitates repairs by contacting vendors for materials and parts.
•Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
•Participates in training classes for existing and new equipment.
•Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
•Ensures a safe working environment exists for employees and customers.
Requirements
•High school diploma or GED preferred.
•1-2 years' experience in HVAC and refrigeration maintenance.
•Must possess basic computer skills.
•Possess valid drivers' license and be insurable as a driver.
•Must be EPA Certified in handling of refrigerants.
•Requires manual dexterity to operate equipment.
•Requires ability to use power and hand tools.
•Requires to share in after-hours on-call service functions.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities.
•Ability to work independently in high priority, confidential and demanding business environment.
Physical Demands
•Lift and/or carry up to 80lbs from the ground to overhead.
•Push and pull with arms up to a force of 30lbs.
•Crouch, stoop, squat, and kneel.
•Carry, erect, and climb ladders.
•Exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures.
•Reach overhead and grasp objects.
•Bend and twist at the waist.
•Grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift.
•Stand/walk for extended periods of time.
•Ability to work alone.
