Purpose:Safely operate assigned powered industrial trucks (PIT) like forklifts, stand-up order pickers, and cherry pickers to facilitate the movement of products around the distribution center. Ensure the precise processing of orders during distribution operations.
Responsibilities of Freight Handler:
- Under the supervisor's guidance, operate powered equipment effectively to pick and store items with precision and efficiency
- Make the most of computerized warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to efficiently handle the processing of barcoded items
- Recognize and bring to the attention of the leadership team any irregularities
- Comply with the specified standard operating tactics (SOTs)
- Maintain accurate records of production per task and complete all essential paperwork
- Aptitude to work overtime when the job calls for it
- Versatility in training and undertaking responsibilities in multiple sectors
- Keep the work environment safe and orderly through proper maintenance
- Further tasks as deemed necessary

Expertise, Skills, and Competencies of Freight Handler:
- The adidas certification is essential for individuals looking to safely operate various powered equipment, including order pickers, turret trucks, reach trucks, powered pallet jacks, and sit-down forklifts
- Basic math skills

- Fluency in English speaking, reading, writing, and understanding is a prerequisite
Essential Functions of Freight Handler:
Regularly required to talk or actively listen; sit, stand, or move about; utilize fingers, hands, arms, and feet for tactile perception, handling, gripping, seizing, lifting, operating, propelling, and pulling for a maximum of twelve hours per day
- Possess the ability to work safely at high altitudes, above the forty (40) feet mark
- demonstrates the ability to work in a warehouse with different temperature ranges
- Having the commitment to attend work at the appointed times consistently
- It is imperative to have the necessary knowledge to operate power industrial equipment safely
- occasionally required to sit; bending, twisting, climb or balance; lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to fifty (50) pounds; and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
Qualifications of Freight Handler:
- The acquisition of a high school diploma or an equivalent degree reflects the dedication and effort put into educational pursuits
- A minimum of six months of previous forklift operation experience is a prerequisite
- Required to be competent in speaking, understanding written text, composing written content, and comprehending the English language
